Lochinvar Named Outstanding Employer of the Year by Tennessee Association of the Deaf

 Lochinvar Corporation was recently awarded the Outstanding Employer of the Year honors in recognition for their efforts in recruiting workers with hearing impairments.  The award was given by the Nashville Chapter of the Tennessee Association of the Deaf.

Lochinvar currently has several employees at their manufacturing facilities, engineering laboratories and corporate headquarters who have hearing impairments.What's more, Lochinvar regularly sends out position notices to a variety of organizations in search of qualified candidates with hearing impairments."Aside from hiring them, Lochinvar has made a tremendous effort in working with their deaf employees," said Amy Stockard, secretary of the Nashville Chapter Tennessee Association for the Deaf and also a Lochinvar employee.  "A TDD (telephone device for the deaf) is provided so phone calls can be made independently, interpretors are provided for meetings and special events and other employees have even learned some sign language."
