Shield Water Heater Success in Albuquerque, NM
6/13/2011
by Lochinvar Marketing

Kevin Caldwell has not run out of hot water since installing his new Shield water heaters.

In 2010, Kevin contacted Chad Padilla at The Socha Company to discuss the replacement of a tank type water heater at one of six McDonalds Restaurants he owns in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The original tank-type, under-fired water heater was 199,999 Btu/hr input with 100 gallons of storage.

Chad showed Kevin the new technology in the Shield water heater. He showed how the 96% thermally efficient Shield can protect against the harmful effects of lime scale build-up that robs tank-type water heaters of efficiency and shortens their lifespan. They chose a Shield SNR200-100 water heater because the McDonald’s was a 24 hour operation that used 1,500 to 2,500 gallons of water a day.

Kevin was pleased to report that his gas bill savings were even greater than expected. In fact, the new estimated payback schedule is less than three quarters of one year. Kevin was so impressed with the performance of the Shield that he installed Shield water heaters at another location and plans to install Shield water heaters at all of his remaining restaurants.

“It (the Shield water heater) is truly an appliance that is everything it is advertised to be,” says Kevin Caldwell.
