Lochinvar Corporation announces that all Lochinvar fan-assisted copper products comply with the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC) statewide NOx emission limits, Chapter 117, Rule Log No. 1999-055I-117-AI. According to the TNRCC Web site (www.tnrcc.state.tx.us), the purpose of the revisions to Chapter 117 Rule Log No. 1999-055I-117-AI is to “reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from new natural gas fired water heaters, small boilers and process heaters sold and installed in Texas.” The rule states that all water heaters and boilers must meet the NOx emission limits according to the following schedule: - July 1, 2002 – all units with a rated heat input of 75,000 Btu/hr or less must produce less than 55 ppm - January 1, 2005 – all units with a rated heat input of 75,000 Btu/hr or less must produce less than 15 ppm - July 1, 2002 – all units with a rated heat input greater than 75,000 up to and including 400,000 Btu/hr must produce less than 55 ppm - July 1, 2002 – all units with a rated heat input of more than 400,000 Btu/hr must produce less than 30 ppm Lochinvar is the first manufacturer in the industry to have obtained certification from an independent testing laboratory stating that all Lochinvar fan-assisted copper products have met or exceeded the requirements of this rule, having less than 30 ppm NOx emissions.
