Lochinvar Corp. hosted a tour of its corporate headquarters as part of the recent 2005 Best Plants Conference. The annual conference is hosted by Industry Week magazine and the Association for Manufacturing Excellence. It gives manufacturing executives a chance to study the most effective practices and plant designs for maximizing production.

This year, the IW/AME Best Plants Conference selected Lochinvar to be among a handful of “world-class facilities” for attendees to tour. Lochinvar is a leading manufacturer of high-efficiency boilers, water heaters, and pool heaters. Its state-of-the-art headquarters in Lebanon, Tenn., earned top honors in the 2005 “Excellence in Manufacturing” Awards from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Business Journal.

“We’re very focused, effective, and efficient,” says Lochinvar president Bill Vallett. “We couldn’t be more proud to show off our operation. Our employees deserve a moment in the spotlight for the incredible job that they do.”

The IW/AME Best Plants Conference attracted industry leaders from across the country to Nashville for three days in May. In addition to plant tours, the conference featured a collection of seminars designed to highlight the best new strategies to improve productivity and the manufacturing process. These topics have become increasingly important as domestic manufacturers face growing competition from overseas. Conference attendees were also invited to participate in panel discussions and a “Torchbearers” award ceremony.
