Lochinvar has updated its residential gas and electric water heaters in conjunction with the new minimum efficiency requirements from the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Effective April 16, 2015, all residential water heater manufacturers must meet the NAECA III efficiency requirements. Lochinvar has updated its affected products to meet these new efficiencies.

Please go to the “Residential Water Heater” section of Lochinvar.com to see 14 categories of residential gas and electric water heaters. Under these categories you will find new literature for the updated models.

For example, under “Energy Saver Residential Electric”, you will find two Literature sheets, one titled “Before April 16 – Res Electric Wtr Htr”. This sheet is for models we will stop producing on April 16, 2015. We will maintain this sheet on our website for one year in support of models still available for sale and in the inventory of local supply houses. The “before” models are design certified to NAECA II.

Also, under “Energy Saver Residential Electric”, you will find a second Literature sheet titled “After April 16 – Res Electric Wtr Htr”. This sheet is for models we will begin producing on April 16, 2015. These models are design certified to meet the new minimum efficiency requirements of NAECA III.

Important Note: the April 16th deadline is a manufacturer’s deadline. While Lochinvar may not produce NAECA II models after that date, any NAECA II model in local inventory may be sold after April 16th.

Also, the “Sun Saver Solar” and “Squire Indirect Water Heaters” were not affected by the NAECA program.
